About Our Trip

Six young adults from Charlotte, NC will be heading to city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra in the eastern lowlands of Bolivia. We will be partnering with South America Mission (SAM) as we host English Village, a 10-day English immersion environment in which students from around South America will learn language acquisition skills: skills they will need in order to pick up a new language more readily in other areas, countries, or continents the Lord may send them in the future. From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, it will be 100% ENGLISH, and we Americans will serve as the natural English speakers, serving as tutors for 2-4 students each.

The team is comprised of April Miller, Bethany Pile, Chelsea Kautz, Dan Park, Riah Lawry, and Sean DeNeale. Riah has perhaps the most global missions experience of us all, having been a missionary kid in Peru and having traveled extensively around the world growing up and while in college. Chelsea has been serving in various capacities with SAM and will play an integral part in the planning and directing of English Village. Returners, Dan and Sean participated in the GO Bolivia 2013 trip to Santa Cruz, where they served as tutors during the 2013 English Village. This will be April's first time to South America, but she has served previously in the nation of Haiti. Bethany is jumping in with both feet, this being her first international experience ever.

Our group is young but has a great passion to see the name of Jesus proclaimed among the nations. We come with a variety of concerns that we will be bringing before the Lord through prayer. We will be praying against the spiritual warfare that is inevitable and which may manifest itself in various forms, and we will be praying that our team demonstrates a level of unity and love that can only be explained by the fact that we are the Lord's (John 13:35). We are excited to join forces with our South American brothers and sisters, to join the battle in praying for the nations and for each other. We are heading South, knowing little about the people we are about to meet, but fully expectant that God will blow us all away by revealing more beauties about Himself and about His eternal purposes.

Please join in praying with and for us!!! There is truly no better way for you to help than to frequently bring all participants (both the Americans and the South Americans) before our Father in prayer. We hope to update this blog somewhat regularly to keep you abreast of the latest activities and any new prayer requests and praise reports. Thank you for your support...may God richly bless you!
